Dr. Christopher Sharp
Curriculum Vita
|
I received my PhD, with a major in criminal justice, in August 2006, from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. August 1, 2007 I began my professorship here at Valdosta State University (VSU). Having been misplaced in the frozen Midwest for 3.5 years, I am glad to be back down south where it is warm, and I can get sweet tea and good BBQ. Prior to coming to VSU, I have been; a Department Chair of a Criminal Justice department, a fugitive recovery officer/probation officer, and private security agent. I have also served in the US Army Reserves for 10 years now, and recently came back from a 12 month deployment. Here at VSU I am currently the faculty advisor for the College Republicans. I also lead the criminal justice study abroad trip to England and Scotland, which occurs bi-annually during the summer. In the community, I am a soccer coach, sit on the development board for Grove Pointe, and am becoming increasingly more involved in local politics. I don't get much in the way of free time, but when it does happen, I like to either take my daughter fishing or head to the beach. |
