This is a 3-part psycho-educational group for students who want to improve their academic skills through a better understanding of topics such as time management, improving concentration, test preparation, test taking, and test anxiety reduction.

GETTING READY TO QUIT
Presented by John Grotgen, Ph.D.
Quitting smoking (chewing, dipping) is the most important thing you can do to protect your current and future health. But quitting smoking is a very personal decision. It is also a different experience for each individual. Successfully quitting requires preparation and planning. Millions of people have quit and so can you. . . This low-key and non-coercive program will help you prepare for the time when you begin the process of quitting. Topics covered will be: Understanding and changing your smoking habit, Planning ways to cope, Developing a personal quit plan.

I Love Me, I Love Me Not!

This seminar will define a positive vs. negative self-image, invite you to understand why you may “choose” to have a negative self-image and allow you to learn how you can modify your negative self-perception to a positive self-image in order to improve your quality of life.

The ability to communicate our needs is a highly desirable quality – especially when our needs seem to be lost or unnoticed by others. This seminar is designed to increase understanding of what assertiveness is (and is not) and to present techniques that will improve communication skills and increase self-satisfaction.
