Members present: Holly Decker, Hilda Spell, TR "Cat" Decker, Nina Windham, Sammy Dees, Ann Farmer, Ann Harris, Joe Hickey, Ann Lacey, Shirley McClain, Tom Parnell, Ruth Salter, Beverly Sharpe, Inman Grimsley, Gloria Tonsil, Tim Yorkey

 

Members-At-Large: Pearl Everette

 

Members excused: John Anderson, Scott Doner, Hazel Hewett, Debra Holley

 

The COSA meeting was called to order at 8:35 AM.

 

Special Order of the Day: Employee of the Semester finalists were presented their certificates by Dr. Bailey. The finalists were Ms. Joanne Bass, Ms. Catherine Roark, Ms. Phyllis Douthit, Ms. Anna Marie Priest, Ms. Karrie Yeatman and the winner of the $100.00 check and special parking decal was Sgt Jim Warren of Public Safety. COSA would like to thank their supervisors for being present for the presentation of the certificates to all the nominees.

Holly Decker introduced Shirley McClain who will be taking Trudy Hyatt place on COSA.

 

Minutes from the December 8, 1998 were passed and approved.

 

Treasurer's Report - Nina Windham-Since the printing bill for the December minutes hasn't been received yet the balance is still $1424.75.

 

Committee Reports

 

a. Elections-John Anderson,Chair-No Report

 

b. Employee Recognition Committee- Special Order of the Day

 

c. Policy Committee- No Report.

 

d. Recycling Committee-Tom Parnell- Will be posting information as he receives it.

 

e. Retirement Walkway Committee-Hilda Spell- There is a brick mason and she'll be having a meeting as soon as plant moves.

 

f. Salary Study Committee- Dr. Crowe has all the paper work concerning VSU staff salaries.

 

Report from the Chair- Holly Decker- No Report

Old Business

Holiday Work- After a lengthy discussion it was voted to send a letter to Dr. Bailey on this request that was brought to COSA.

 

New Business

None at this present time due to the Holidays.

There was no further discussion or business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:45 A.M. and will meet again on February 9, 1999.
