COSA Chair-Elect, Rebecca Kimbrough, called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. in the President’s Dining Room of the Palms Dining Center. Members present: Melinda Cutchens, Jeff Grant, Rosalyn Hatcher, Lisa Hayes, Stanley Jones, Rebecca Kimbrough, Sue Lampert, Trisha Taylor, and Carolyn Wilson. Cody Guined represented the Student Government Association.
SPECIAL ORDER OF THE DAY:
· Rebecca Kimbrough presented information she received from Richard Hammond regarding the Student Recreation Center. The fees for use of the Student Recreation Center are as follows:
Faculty $60.00 per semester OR $175.00 per year
Staff $60.00 per semester OR $175.00 per year
Spouse $60.00 per semester OR $175.00 per year – Your spouse will be required to obtain a VSU One Card from VSU One Card Services for admittance to the Student Recreation Center. The VSU One Card may be purchased for a fee of $15.00. The initial purchase of the VSU One Card will be the only time your spouse is required to pay the $15.00 fee.
Guest $5.00 per day (limited to one guest per day) - The guest must remain with the member in the Student Recreation Center. Individuals must be at least 17 years of age to enter the Student Recreation Center.
Locker Rental/Towel Rental prices range from $25.00 - $60.00. The price is determined by the size of the locker you would like to rent and whether or not you opt to rent towels.

Climbing Wall:
Monday – Thursday – 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Friday – 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday – 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Sunday – 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Hours of operation during semester breaks, summer breaks and holidays will vary. To obtain membership information you may contact Campus Recreation at 333-5898.

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Sue Lampert presented a written report of the three COSA accounts.
· Fund 10000 = $2,301.90 (Note: A total of $344.61 in unused money was returned to the State of Georgia from the Fund 10 state account at the end of June 2002.)
· Discretionary = $1,768.36
· Retirement Walkway = $10,434.40

REPORT FROM THE CHAIR:
Rebecca Kimbrough informed everyone that COSA Chair Shannon McGee is now a mother! She and Jason are the proud parents of Colby Jason McGee.

· The President of the Student Government Association, Cody Guined, was introduced to COSA. Cody is looking forward to another successful year for the SGA and discussed his goals for the upcoming academic year. He also stated that the SGA Senate elections would be taking place in September.
