GES Technical Certificate Programs
These programs are designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions for many in-demand occupations, all within a six-month delivery window.
GES/E2G builds their programs with a team of professionals from each respective field, who work with an existing text book or base of material to provide the most effective web-based learning experience. The Programs are all open enrollment, asynchronous, and interactive. Instructors are actively involved in the students' online learning experience. They respond to any questions or concerns as well as encouraging and motivating students to succeed. Each program has a set of lessons and tests; grades are a combination of computer-graded tests and the instructor’s evaluation of the students' work.
Demonstrations are available for many of the available certificate programs. Once you decide on a certificate program simply call the VSU Continuing Education Department or complete the online registration form and mail or fax it in us. After your registration and payment have been received you will be sent a confirmation email from VSU. GES/E2G will then contact you and give you the necessary information (URL, username, and password) to access your classroom. Within 3 - 5 business days they will ship you the appropriate courseware and your instructor will be alerted that he/she has a new student.
After you have received your materials, you will then have access to the course for 6 months to 18 months depending on the program. Most of the courses are structured to be completed within 6 months, however, if you need more time extensions are generally available. Upon notification from GES/E2G of satisfactory completion of the program you will be awarded a certificate from Valdosta State University indicating the continuing education credits (CEUs) earned.

Looking to make your mark in the digital arts? The Digital Arts Online Training Program will give you the education you need. You'll gain hands-on experience in fundamental technical and creative skills in digital imaging, traditional drawing, and digital illustration. You will master the intricacies of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, build your understanding of color, and explore the representation of form through vector illustration and drawing.
Hands-on projects focus on core skills and provide you with experience in traditional and digital media. Class assignments include digital imaging, vector drawing, traditional drawing, color and composition, and editorial illustration. (360 hours/36CEUs)
Upon registering, you're given an initial thirty-six weeks to complete this program. Should you need more time beyond the thirty-six weeks, an extension of six months is available at no additional cost.
Prerequisites/Audience: The certificate program is designed for adult learners interested in building skills and portfolio for a design career. Students can enroll at any time, with monthly class starts. The program is open admissions: students must be 18 or over and provide high school or college transcripts prior to starting classes.
Requirements: Students must have a computer (PC or Mac) and an Internet connection (56 Kbps modem or faster). For any courses with software requirements, computers must meet software manufacturers' system requirements. Required software and technology:
- Adobe Photoshop CS4 or CS5
- Adobe Illustrator CS4 or CS5
- A digital camera for photographing drawing work
- Basic drawing supplies including pencils and sketch paper. The Intro to Drawing course and Drawing I course will provide specifics and a discount code for art supply site utrecht.com.
No textbooks are required for this program.
This course is currently not compatible with Windows Vista Operating System.

Game Art Certificate
In the Game Art Online Training program, you’ll learn both technical and artistic skills, applying professional approaches to digital imaging, 3D modeling, model texturing, game animation, color, and lighting.
Modules are structured around practical projects that mirror current practices in game art development. The projects are demanding, and faculty members critique your assignments to help you create your best work. A secondary focus of the program is building the analytical and communication skills that game industry employers seek.
Hands-on projects explore the challenges of modeling, texturing, and animating 3D characters and environments using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop. Class assignments include industry analysis, concept image development, 3D modeling, tiling textures, 3D lighting, and animation.(360 hours/ 36CEUs)

As a student, you'll gain proficiency in the software programs that every Web designer needs to know: Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver, and Flash. You'll learn how to create digital images, build standards-compliant Web sites using HTML and CSS code and Dreamweaver software, and add interactivity with JavaScript and jQuery.
