Camp Discovery logo
Accepting registrations beginning May 1, 2008

Purpose
The purpose of our summer youth programs is to provide enrichment opportunities for children and teens in the Valdosta area. We strive to create a safe, caring environment where participants expand their horizons, make friends, and achieve personal growth through age-appropriate activities. All classes are designed to be fun for participants, as well as to improve academic, artistic, and/or physical skills.

Age Ranges
Age requirements for other camps vary, and are listed with each camp description. In general, most camps are geared for children 6 to 12 and are broken into 6 - 8 and 9 - 12 age groups. There are several camps that include 5 year olds as well as camps designed for those 13 and over. Please see the Camp Descriptions page.

Where and When

Programs start the week of June 2, and continue through July 25. Enrollment is limited to 20 students per camp, unless otherwise listed in the description, to assure good teacher-student interaction. Most camps are held Monday—Friday, 9:00 am—12:00 noon at the Regional Center for Continuing Education, but several afternoon camps are also available this year. Parents may park in the lot behind the building and bring their children in through the rear entrance. Children will meet in the lobby and be escorted to their classrooms as a group. Some camps are held off-site; that will be noted in the camp description and instructions will be sent with the receipt.

Early drop-off will be available at 7:30 am (except for off-site camps) at no extra charge. Campers will enjoy supervised activities until the start of their camp. Students should be picked up promptly at the conclusion of camp. A morning snack will be provided each day at 10:30 am. Registration fee covers all course supplies and snacks.

For those attending both a morning and afternoon camp in the same week, a supervised lunch area will be available. Campers must bring a sack lunch. Lunches can be refrigerated, but not heated.

Cost
Camp fees vary based on program expenses. Please see individual descriptions for camp fees. Sorry, there are no scholarships available for Camp Discovery.
