Your kids will have fun while learning in our week-long summer day camps! Camp Discovery provides opportunities for Valdosta-area kids to make friends, expand their horizons, and achieve personal growth through age-appropriate activities. All camps are designed to be fun for participants, as well as to improve academic, artistic, and/or physical skills.
Camps will be available from May 31 - July 29, 2011, for children 5 and up. Most camps are held Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Some afternoon camps will be available. Camp fees start at $80 and vary based on the cost of the activities. Click here for camp descriptions.
Some of the more popular camps will be back, including Lego Creators, Horsemanship 101, Awesome Artists, Tennis, Lights Camera ACTION!, Dance Imagination, Painting Pros, and Cartooning, and Pet Projects. A few of the new camps this year are 3-D Art, Survivor VSU, Reading and Writing Detectives, and Good Manners Matter.
Our new option this year, the “Rec Room,” was a great success and will be back next year! If your kids need a cool place to hang out in the afternoons, the Rec Room is for you! From 1 – 4 pm each day, participants will enjoy supervised activities: games (indoor and outdoor), movies, arts and crafts, and a few special visitors. There will be both individual and group activities. The fee for this camp is $55 per week (no discounts).
A supervised lunch area will be available for those attending a camp in the morning and the Rec Room or another camp in the afternoon. Campers must bring a sack lunch. Lunches can be refrigerated, but not heated.
