Understanding Social Security
Ride the SAMS Shortline from Cordele (“all aboard” at 9:30 am.) Lunch in Americus at the Winsor Hotel ($10.95 plus tax - pay on your own at lunch), or any other available restaurant of your choosing. When you arrive at Plains take a walking tour of the town. Payments due by September 25. No refunds after that date, as your ticket will have been purchased, but you may send a substitute.
Dates: Friday, Oct 5
Time:Carpool from Regional Center for Continuing Education (RCCE) will leave at 7:45. Train from Cordele departs at 9:30 am. Arrive back at RCCE approximately 5 pm. Please note that the Continuing Ed building will be closed when you return.
Fee: $20 due by September 25. No refunds after this date.

Wakulla Springs Trip
Safari by boat through Wakulla Springs - enjoy nature! Park restaurant is open from 11:30 am - 2 pm. Boat tour is $6, and there is a $4 fee per car to enter park.
Dates: Friday, Nov 2
Time: Carpool from Regional Center for Continuing Education (RCCE) will leave at 8:00 am sharp; please be there at 7:30 am. Return to RCCE at approximately 3:30 - 4 pm.
Fee: Lunch and Admission charges on your own. Boat tour ($6), parking ($4 per car)

Traffic Management Center Tour
Review past and current improvement projects and tour the traffic management center, learn about its capabilities, and discuss future traffic improvements in Valdosta. Limit 20 students. Will meet at Continuing Education Building at 9:30 am and carpool to location.

Revisit your childhood! Learn (or re-learn) basic fishing skills. Tackle and bait will be provided. Private lake, no fishing license required. Directions will be sent with your receipt.

Coffee from Tree to Cup
Learn about the origin of coffee and the process of growing, processing, and importing green coffee. Roast Indonesian and Central American coffees to bring home. Discover the differences between a cappuccino and latte; sip an espresso made with fresh roasted coffee. Class will be held at “The Beanery,” 1009 1/2 Williams St., Valdosta. Participants will be able to take home 2 bags of coffee and enjoy whatever espresso drinks they would like. Class size limited to 15 students. If there is enough interest, a second class will be scheduled.
