The Department of Communication Arts




The Department of Communication Arts offers four comprehensive undergraduate degree programs in Dance, Mass Media, Speech Communication and Theatre Arts. The BFA degree prepares tomorrow's communicators today.
- Dance (training in performance, teaching and choreography)
- Mass Media (emphasis areas in broadcast journalism, international documentary production, audio and video)
- Speech Communication (emphasis areas in general speech, intercultural and organizational communication, and public relations)
- Theatre Arts (emphasis areas in performance, production and musical theatre)
Students may also minor in Dance, Mass Media, Speech Communications and Theatre
The Department of Communication Arts also offers a Master of Arts Degree in Communication

We mount a seven-production Theatre Season on campus during the academic year

We produce three musicals in the Peach State Summer Theatre

Valdosta State University is an accredited institutional member of the
National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST)
The Department of Communications Public Relations emphasis has received the CEPR (Certification in Education for Public Relations) from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)
