The BFA in Mass Media

Mass Media offers four emphases:

As with all other degree plans at VSU, the BFA in Mass Media begins with 42-44 semester hours of the standard VSU Junior College Core Curriculum (Areas A-E). To that base the department adds 18 semester hours of Junior College course work related to the major(Area F). A minimum grade of "C" is required for all Area F courses in the department.

Each emphasis area is grounded in the history, theory,and methods of its discipline to prepare students for either graduate or professional careers. People learn by doing, and here they are provided the practical experience and opportunities to develop talent, skills, and knowledge.

To the 60 hour junior college curriculum, the Senior College Curriculum adds another 60 semester hours to the degree plan. All students working toward the BFA in Mass Media are required to take the "Senior Core" of courses.
