Admission to Valdosta State University
*Admission to Valdosta State University: This date is an estimate provided by the VSU Office of Undergraduate Admissions to process applications, evaluate transfer credit, and issue a tentative acceptance to the university by the College of Nursing application deadline. Students applying to the College of Nursing through NursingCAS must supply a VSU student identification number.
Students who have not at least been tentatively accepted to the University will not be considered for admission.
Calculate Your Nursing GPA
Applicants must have a 2.8 Nursing Certification GPA and a 2.8 overall GPA for their application to be considered. Applicants with less than a 2.8 NURSING GPA will not be considered for admissions.

The Nursing Certification GPA consists of only the course work required in the core curriculum for Nursing.
When using the GPA calculator, delete the number of hours for courses you have not completed.
The most recent attempt of any repeated course is used for the Nursing Certification GPA. Science courses (including NURS 2700 can only be repeated once).
Completion of Nursing Core Requirements
Applicants must have ALL Nursing core requirements completed upon entry to the BSN program.
There are a certain number of core classes that must be complete at application. Please review the Pre-BSN Admissions Criteria (link to new criteria.) Applicants who have not completed or will not complete required coursework prior to the application deadline will not be considered for admission.
A minimum of “C” in each course in areas DIIB and F are required. Courses in Area F which are older than 10 years at time of program application deadline must be retaken for consideration into the program.
Successful Completion of Required Standardized Entrance Exam (See Testing Dates Below)
Applicants must attain passing score on standardized entrance examination.
The entrance exam may be repeated only ONCE in any application cycle.
To schedule to take the entrance test, please email Ms. Marie Bertsch.
