Thank you for your interest! Blazing Through Books will be offered in Fall 2015 but check out our Spring 2015 Blazing LitES program!



PROGRAM DETAILS:

Who: VSU student athletes and VSU students are volunteering their time to read and write with the community children in grades K-5.

What: Children will be working in small groups or one-on-one with VSU students to build literacy skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. 

Where: The Sullivan Literacy Center is located in the Dewar College of Education room 1001.

When: Every Monday and Wednesday from 4:00p.m.-4:50p.m. The Blazing Through Books program runs from September to November. Specific dates T.B.A.

Why: To build up your children’s reading and writing skills, motivation, and confidence related to reading and writing so that they become lifelong readers and writers.

Cost:  Monetary and/or book donations are welcome to help expand our library.

 

*Blazing Through Books is a program for children on the waiting list looking to be accepted into the Sullivan Literacy Center L.E.A.P. Tutoring Program.
