Literacy Education Assessment Program

Dear Parents: 

Thank you for your interest in the L.E.A.P. program at the Sullivan Literacy Center!

*To be eligible for this program, your child must already be a participant of the Blazing Through Books program

Here is what your child will receive in the L.E.A.P. program:

  • A diagnosis of the child’s reading strengths, weaknesses, and instructional reading level.
  • One-on-one tutoring sessions using a balanced approach to reading instruction including:

                        Fluency Strategies

                        Self-Monitoring of Checking Strategies

                        Decoding Strategies (Phonics and Phonemic Awareness)

                        Writing Strategies

                        Comprehension Strategies

                        Vocabulary Instruction

  • An opportunity for you to observe a tutoring lesson and learn how to effectively work with your child.

 

Summer 2015 - Tutoring will be on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 2:30p.m.-3:20p.m. Specific dates T.B.A.

Fall 2014
- Tutoring will be on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4:00p.m.-4:50p.m. starting September 15th and ending November 19th.

Spring 2015 - The L.E.A.P. program is not offered during Spring semester.
