What is VECA?
Valdosta Early College Academy (VECA) is an innovative school formed as a partnership between the Valdosta City School District and Valdosta State University (VSU). It blends middle/high school and college into a seamless technology-rich education program, provides rigorous curriculum with high academic and behavioral expectations with small classes and instruction designed to meet the needs of every student. Currently, a total of 105 students attend the sixth through eighth grades at VECA which is housed in the Dewar College of Education on the VSU campus and the old SL Mason School on Azalea Drive. Each year a new class of sixth grade students will be admitted, bringing enrollment to 250 students in grades six through 12 by the year 2014. Students are selected based on risk factors for not completing high school or attending college.
How do I order?
Order on-line at www.myveca.com or complete the order form attached and mail or fax it to us. The address and fax number are listed at the top of the order form. If you have a large order, just mail or fax us the list with the items you want them to receive. We will invoice you later. Last day orders will be accepted is Friday, December 10, 2010.
How much is shipping and when will the items be sent?
We have made shipping easy and simple by charging just $ 8.00 per item. This includes APO and any address within the 50 states. All orders will be shipped by USPS Priority, UPS or FedEx 2-day service.
What if I want to deliver my gifts?
You have the option of delivering your gift boxes to employees, clients, colleagues, or relatives and friends yourself and avoiding all shipping costs. Simply tell us how many of each item you want and the total price. Do not include any costs for shipping. Leave the remainder of the “Gift Order” portion of the order form blank. If you live in Lowndes County, we will deliver your items to you. If you live outside of Lowndes County, we will contact you for pick-up of your items.
Why should I purchase from you?
First, nuts are a healthy alternative to most holiday gift foods. Second, purchasing from us supports local business and local growers and keeps tax dollars working within our community and state. Third, 100% of net proceeds from sales are used to support students of VECA. Fourth, you will receive a letter from the VSU Office of University Advancement indicating the contribution amount for use on your Annual income tax return. Lastly, we will include a gift card with each item you send recognizing you as the person or company purchasing the gift.
