The psychology & counseling department welcomes its new faculty members for Fall 2008
Jill A. Geltner , Ph.D., NCSC

Jill A. Geltner was born and raised in Northeast Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University before moving to Florida to train as a school and mental health counselor. She received her Masters and Specialist degrees in Education from the University of Florida in 1996 as well as her PhD in Counselor Education in 2007 with a special focus on school counselor training. Her other areas of interest and research include middle school counseling, school counselors role in the special education process, counseling and the media, and classroom management for school counselors. She has enjoyed working as a professional school counselor for all ages in a number of settings over the past 11 years. Dr. Geltner is also a Nationally Certified School Counselor and a licensed Mental Health therapist. She lives with her husband, two daughters, ages 9 and 12, and newborn son. They enjoy all Florida Gator sporting events and time with their two dogs, Squirt and Ruby.
