Dissertation Committe Form
Helpful Hints for Submitting a Thesis or Dissertation to the Graduate School
Submit dissertation proposal
Receive approval for proposal defense
Dissertation Proposal Approval From
Secure IRB approval
Apply for graduation
Complete dissertation
Receive approval for dissertation defense
Dissertation Defense Notification The Dissertation Committee Chair should announce the Dissertation Defense via COE listserv at coefac@lighthouse.valdosta.edu two weeks prior to scheduled date. Include the title, abstract, doctoral candidate’s name, date and location in the announcement.
Apply for Graduation
Defend dissertation
Final Approval of Dissertation Form
Make final committee revisions
Submit a copy of the dissertation to the COE Dean
Submit copy of the dissertation with COED Dean changes to the Graduate School
Make revisions as required by the Graduate School
Receive approval from Graduate School
Complete Thesis/Dissertation Binding Information Sheet
Pay binding fees at the Bursary
Take copies to the library.
Complete V-Text Form (permission form for submitting electronic copy of thesis or dissertation to Odum Library Archives - submit when dropping off hard copies of theses and dissertations to be bound) Word format
Graduate!
Emergency Stop-Out Form (Complete and Submit to Advisor request an Emergency Stop-Out during the dissertation process.)
