Special Education General Curriculum / Early Childhood
This five year degree program is designed to prepare students to teach in Pre-K through 5th grade with certification in Special Education General Curriculum Early Childhood. The first four years of the program result in a B.S.Ed. in Special Education, the final year results in an M.Ed. in Special Education. Admission to the program is based on admission to Teacher Education. Admission to Teacher Education.
Selected Educational Outcomes
- Program graduates will demonstrate an acceptable level of content knowledge in multiple disciplines.
- Program graduates will demonstrate an acceptable level of teaching competency in their major areas by planning for the delivery and assessment of appropriate instruction and therapy in school and clinical settings.
- Program graduates will plan for culturally responsive instructional opportunities with sensitivity to individual learners.
- Program graduates will plan for the establishment and integration of technology into instruction, assessment, and communication.
