Higher Education Leadership Capstone Project - Electronic Portfolio or Thesis

All students are required to complete a capstone project prior to graduation. Students have the two options including submission of an electronic portfolio (ePortfolio) or thesis. The ePortfolio highlights curricular and professional learning experiences during the student's tenure in the program. These reflections on coursework and field-based learning experiences demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and competencies students develop in the program. The ePortfolio serves as a final, summative performance assessment of master's candidates; and most importantly, the ePortfolio is a tool for self-assessment and reflection to support continued professional development in one's future career. Students also have the option of completing a thesis as their capstone project. The thesis provides an opportunity for students to conduct original research in a higher education and student affairs area of their interest.Students wishing to complete the thesis option work closely with their advisor and a committee of faculty members.
