HIGHER EDUCATION LEADERSHIP

The Higher Education Leadership program offers students a blend of classroom learning and practical experiences to prepare them to grow as scholars and professionals involved in the operations of academic affairs and student services in higher education. The program, which engages distance learning programs to accommodate working students, outfits students with the knowledge and resources needed to excell as leaders in a variety of academic institutions. Courses expose students to a range of learning and development theories, explore the history of American higher education, interpret financial and organizational structures, evaluate institutional effectiveness, and analyze educational research. An emphasis on learning through technology invites students to develop instructional applications in a variety of software programs and create Web resources to further academic achievement and student learning. Faculty and staff encourage diverse internship experiences for students to translate theories into practice as they develop a personal philosophy of higher education.
