NEW CHANGES FOR THE NEW TEACHER INSTITUTE

The New Teacher Institute at Valdosta State University is undergoing a dramatic and exciting change!  Beginning with the 2008-2009 program, Valdosta State’s New Teacher Institute will be delivered as a Fall and Spring program, rather than a summer program. This will allow a participant to complete the program without having to relocate to the Valdosta area for four weeks at a time. Class meetings will be held on a series of Saturdays, along with one or two meetings held in conjunction with major CTAE conferences. Web-based activities will be used to supplement in-class instruction. It is hoped that this will be a more cost-effective model and will allow for the immediate application of skills and competencies learned in the class meetings.
