MASTERS OF EDUCATION IN ADULT AND CAREER EDUCATION
The Masters of Education in Adult and Career Education has the following three Areas of Emphasis: Workforce Education & Development (WED); Career & Technical Education (CTE); and Business Education & Information Technology (BEIT). Each area of emphasis is designed to provide advanced knowledge, skills and dispositions in the field of Adult and Career Education and inherent within the area.
Workforce Education and Development is an area designed for professionals who are working or wish to work as educational leaders in Adult Education settings. Such settings include but are not limited to private sector business & industry human resource education, training and development, government agency training programs, post-secondary technical and community colleges, and adult community education programs.
Career and Technical Education is an area designed for professionals who are working or wish to work in the Public School Secondary Education setting in roles such as but not limited to Career and Technical Education: teacher-leaders, curriculum specialists, program designers, and professional development specialists.
Business Education and Information Technology is an area designed for educators to learn advanced instructional and course design knowledge, skills and dispositions for Business Education instructors in school settings.
A capstone experience is required to complete the degree.
REQUIRED OF ALL STUDENTS FOR ADMISSION: Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in education or related field; Undergraduate GPA 2.5 and above; GRE score of more than 750 (verbal plus either quantitative or analytical portion); the score on the verbal portion of the GRE must be 350 or above, or MAT raw score of 375.

A minimum of 36 hours beyond Bachelor’s degree is required.
