CommuniCoach support
CommuniCoach offers a powerful means of assessing performance through online video. In addition to the obvious advantage of playback that video offers in general, and the facility with which it can bridge distances, CommuniCoach allows a direct connection of feedback to segments of video. Feedback can then be reviewed and processed much more efficiently and meaningfully by students; with the click of the mouse, students can view the video segment to which the feedback refers. Frequently used comments can be collected and categorized for easy insertion of feedback. Customizable rubrics and criteria can standardize assessments. Students can also perform assessments, of their own work or videos distributed by instructors. To see how it works, watch the video tutorials in the Students and Faculty section below. IMPORTANT: CommuniCoach requires that you use Windows Explorer as your browser and that you prepare video in a specific format and size: wmv, 320x240. The video preparation link below provides guidance on video. Students are strongly advised to follow the directions below for Video Preparation, limited to three main methods due to impossibility in providing support for the many methods possible. These methods are organized in priority for which you will probably find the most ease. Please utilize what technical support you may have available at your schools. For troubleshooting video preparation, after you have followed the directions, contact Media Services at 229-333-5863; ask for Bradley Cupp or Rex Devane. Or email them directly at bdcupp@valdosta.edu or rdevane@valdosta.edu.
