Jane Zahner

Dr. Jane Zahner is a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Technology who served as the Faculty Associate for the Center for International Programs in 2004-2005. During that time she organized the Study Abroad Photo Contest and the Round (the) World Tables conference, at which over 30 VSU faculty gave presentations concerning international activities. She has been involved in the Consortium for Belizean Educational Cooperation (COBEC) for six years, and is currently an official VSU representative to the organization. Dr. Zahner is founder and organizer of the College Administrator / Faculty Experience (CAFÉ) Workshops, an annual event offering professional development for higher educators in Belize. She, along with others in her department, is involved in an ongoing collaborative project with Instructional Technology counterparts at Esterhazy Karoly College in Eger, Hungary. The two groups of faculty have participated on study trips, co-presentation at conferences both in the US and Hungary, and regular desktop computer conferencing. Dr. Zahner's current areas of interest are in internationalizing the College of Education through recruitment of international students and faculty, support for international graduate assistantships, internationalization of the curriculum, and institutional encouragement for education students to travel and study abroad.
