Abstract

Nurseryfish, Kurtus gulliveri, live in the crocodile-populated tropical rivers of northern Australia and southern New Guinea.  They are remarkable for their bizarre method of parental care.  The males carry the eggs on a hook on their head like a bunch of grapes.  This seminar reveals the anatomy and life history of this unusual species and shows jumping crocodiles larger than the researcher's boat.
