Can you help me find a part-time job?

Career Services maintains a listing of off-campus jobs in areas such as administrative, retail, child care, manufacturing, social services and sales. Partial listings of jobs are available on our website. Bring your VSU ID with you to the office for complete job and contact information.

I don’t have a major.  Can you help?

Career Services has trained professionals that meet individually with students to help them assess their interests, skills, values, and academic aptitudes. Once students narrow their major options through the use of inventories, the counselor guides them through the decision making process.

There is no charge for currently enrolled VSU students seeking individual assistance, but there is a nominal fee for people within the community and alumni that are currently one semester beyond graduation.

Can Career Services assist me with resume preparation?

We critique resumes and related correspondence for VSU students and alumni. If you don’t have a resume, attend a resume prep workshop or come by the office to pick-up a resume packet. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for your resume to be critiqued.

What is your resume referral service all about?

The Office of Career Services provides Resume Referral for seniors, graduate students, and alumni. There are two types of resume referral within the office: Employer Requested and Student/Alumni Requested. Employer requested referral is when employers contact the office for resumes of candidates who meet their specific qualifications. Student/Alumni requested referral is when students/alumni request that their resume be sent to an employer. The office uses GeorgiaHire for our resume database. For more information about resume referral through georgiahire visit our website and view the section on resume referral or contact the office for more information.
