Lt. Colonel Alan w. elledge 
Biography Lieutenant Colonel Alan W. Elledge is the Commander of the Air Force’s Reserved Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 172 located at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. The Detachment recruits, educates, trains, and commissions officer candidates through Valdosta State University. Lt Col Elledge was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He was commissioned in the Air Force after completing the University of Illinois’ Air Force ROTC program as a distinguished graduate in May 1989. He began active duty as a test and evaluation engineer in the Flight Dynamics Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, working on the uniquely modified variable stability F-16D test aircraft known as VISTA. After earning his Master’s Degree at the Air Force Institute of Technology, he moved to Edwards AFB, California, where he served as an instructor on the Test Pilot School staff teaching the flying qualities curriculum. In 1997, he was selected to attend the USAF Test Pilot School as a flight test engineer and after graduating, moved to Eglin AFB, Florida, where he became a Smart Weapons Flight Test Engineer primarily testing the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM). In 1999, Lt Col Elledge transitioned to the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile Test Team where he served as the Branch Chief certifying the JASSM for operation on the B-52 and B-2 aircraft. He moved back to Wright-Patterson AFB in 2002 as part of the Air Force Command and Control and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Center liaison team working in the Reconnaissance SPO. Lt Col Elledge was assigned to Air Combat Command in 2003 to serve as the acquisition expert as part of ACC’s Directorate of Requirements for the Global Hawk program. Lt Col Elledge served as the executive officer for the Air Force Materiel Command’s Director of Operations from 2004 to 2005. He then moved to Holloman AFB where he served as the Deputy Group Commander for the 46th Test Group whose test mission included Guidance and Navigation Test and Evaluation, High Speed Sled Track Testing, Radar Cross Section Measurement, Weapons Development Flight Testing, and Air Force liaison with White Sands Missile Range. In 2007, he moved to Valdosta, Georgia where he took command of the Air Force ROTC Detachment.

Capt. Paul D. McArtor
Biography
Capt McArtor is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and the Commandant of Cadets of the Air Force Reserved Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 172 located at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA. The Detachment recruits, educates, trains, and commissions officer candidates through Valdosta State University.
Capt McArtor was raised in Brandon, Fl. He began his Air Force career by enlisting in April 1998 as a Computer Maintenance Apprentice. He was initially stationed in the Mobile Command and Control Squadron at Offutt AFB, NE.
He was commissioned through Officer Training School in August 2002. After his graduation he was assigned to the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) System Program Office at Eglin AFB, Fl. During his assignment he oversaw integration of the new weapon system onto existing Air Force aircraft including the new F-22. Capt McArtor also took over as the lead for the SDB carriage system.
In 2005, he moved to Valdosta, Georgia where he assumed responsibility as the Unit Admissions Officer (UAO) of Air Force ROTC Detachment 172. During Capt McArtor’s time as the UAO he was integral in a resurgence at Det 172. After two years on post he has moved over to the Commandant of Cadets position and now oversees the training of the top cadets in the country.

CAPTAIN TIMOTHY L. BAZZLE 

Capt Bazzle is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and the Unit Admissions Officer of the Air Force’s Reserved Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 172 located at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. The Detachment recruits, educates, trains, and commissions officer candidates through Valdosta State University.
Capt Bazzle was raised in Summerville, South Carolina. He began active duty in the United States Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program and is a certified Master Training Specialist. His assignments in that field include service aboard the nuclear powered submarine USS Kamehameha and as an instructor at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command.
He was commissioned in the Air Force after completing Officer Training School as a distinguished graduate in September 2001. His initial assignment was at the 1st Fighter Wing, Langley AFB Virginia, as the officer in charge of the Manpower Operations and Wartime Readiness Branch. He then moved to MacDill AFB in Tampa, Fl to join Headquarters United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) as the Assistant Chief of the Manpower and Organization Branch. There, he performed as the principal advisor to USCENTCOM on manpower policy, formulation, guidance, and functional management to achieve effective organizational manning and personnel augmentation in support of USCENTCOM and 27 Joint Task Forces. He traveled extensively throughout USCENTCOM’s area of operations to include Iraq, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates in support of operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM.
In 2007, he moved to Valdosta, Georgia where he assumed responsibility as the Unit Admissions Officer of Air Force ROTC Detachment 172.
