Learning is not attained by chance. It is a combination of quality teaching and research, young scholars, and state-of-the-art facilities. Your support of the Annual Fund makes all three possible. Excellence in teaching has long been a priority at VSU. The Annual Fund contributes to the success of our faculty by offering opportunities for professional development and research. Scholarship support allows the University to attract and enroll a diverse and dynamic student body. Gifts in support of the University's schools and departments enable them to purchase the most up-to-date equipment and support student academic experiences.
College of the Arts and Outreach Programs
The VSU College of the Arts and its outreach programs offer a myriad of cultural programs. Reaching far beyond the campus borders, Arts at VSU enrichs the cultural life of the region through its extensive outreach activities. The Valdosta Symphony Orchestra, the Peach State Summer Theathre, the VSU Theatre, the Music Society, and the Art Associates all contribute in important ways to what makes South Georgia a great place to live and work. These activities are made possible by gifts and ticket patronage of alumni, friends, and corporations. As a result, the College of the Arts Outreach is able to fulfill its mission of providing scholarship awards to many deserving students.
Athletics
VSU's athletic program is quickly becoming one of the top programs in Division II and members of the Blazer Athletic Boosters are directly responsible for this accomplishment. Since the University System of Georgia Board of Regents requires athletic programs to be self-sufficient, the Blazer Athletic Boosters were formed to address the critical need for athletic scholarships. Through the VSU Foundation, the Blazer Athletic Boosters rely on alumni and friends for private gifts to provide athletic scholarships and program funding for football, basketball, volleyball, cross country, baseball, softball and golf. Your support can continue the successful program of athletics at Valdosta State University.
