University Photography

Photography Services

Photography services can be provided to Valdosta State University colleges, departments and units, subject to availability, for:

  • news events
  • classroom environments
  • academic or campus life activities
  • campus architecture

Priority is given to campus photography required for university communications, and media and public relations. This includes:

  • major university events and celebrations
  • photos required for news release and official university publications
  • notable guest lecturers

Guidelines for Photography Requests

  • Requests must be made at least two weeks in advance.
  • To request photography support, contact Joan Dear at (229) 333-5980.
    • All photo requests are confirmed by email. If no confirmation is received, call Joan Dear at (229) 333-5980.
  • The Office of Creative Design Services and Communications Unit reserves the right to prioritize projects in accordance with the above criteria.
  • A specific photo date may not be possible due to scheduling conflicts.

Staff and Faculty Portraits

Official staff and faculty portraits are taken twice a year at scheduled photo shoots, at no charge. Faculty and staff requesting portrait services are expected to dress professionally in business attire. Contact Joan Dear at (229) 333-5980 to verify time and dates of the portrait shoots.

Digital Asset Management

The Office of Creative Design Services maintains an extensive collection of university photos hosted by Flickr. See the following instructions on how to download images from Flickr. If you are looking for a particular photo and cannot find it on our Flickr page, please contact Joan Dear at (229) 333-5980 and request a time to come over and search our in-house archive.
