Competitive Sports Valdosta State has a long-standing history of intramural sports dating back to the school’s opening in 1913. Today, our competitive sports programs consist of about 30 Intramural sports and 10 club sports. Organized recreational activities, structured leagues, and tournaments are offered in a diverse array of sporting activities such as: flag football, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, Canoe Battleship & Blacklight Dodgeball. University Police The mission of the VSU Police Department is to preserve a safe and secure campus where diverse social, cultural, and academic values are allowed to develop and prosper. Our police provide additional protection through a campus escort service available 24/7 to all VSU faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Download their new Blazer Guardian app and streamline communication with University Police. The app features a safety timer (virtual escort), which can be used to alert police when a student has not arrived at his or her destination within a specific amount of time. Student Health Center The Student Health Center provides optimum health care for undergraduate and graduate students in a compassionate, confidential manner. Services are available with VSU ID for all currently enrolled full- time students who are taking one or more semester hours and who have paid the health fee. The Health Center’s services include a retail pharmacy, laboratory services, and online appointment scheduling.
