I moved into Brown Hall August 7th. It was definitely a crazy day! I met my roommate for the first time and we began deciding how we wanted our room arranged (which took forever). We then started moving in all of our things. (FYI for everyone that plans on living in a dorm: 1. Plastic containers are GREAT storage. 2. bunk the beds if possible, it gives you so much more room. 3. Get a fan.)

It was so hot outside and moving things back and forth from the car to the dorm room was very exhausting, not to mention there was no air conditioning in Brown the first few days. A lot of the KA's helped with move in.. :)! After finally getting settled in we kissed our parents goodbye and got some
sleep--the next day we were going to start rush! The first day of rush was pretty scary, and NO one knew what to expect. Metting all the girls in each sorority was such a good experience. Everyone was nice and wanted nothing more than to get to know you. Everyone says that when you walk into a room you know if you fit,and I couldn't agree more. There are so many  good things about each sorority I can't even begin to tell everything. But after a long week I fell in love with the girls of Phi Mu. Since then it has been nothing but bonding and great times. At first it was really hard trying to balance school work and being
involved in a sorority, but time management has been the key. Classes are going very well, other than the fact that I signed up for an 8 am class; I don't recommend it.

As for dorm life, it has been going really well, showers aren't the best but you learn to cope. Shower shoes are definitely a must, you will be happy to have them when you check out the hairy drains. My roommate and I get along perfectly, we both try to be considerate of each other's schedule. Palms is actually pretty good! They have everything you could possibly want. For all the girls that are scared to death of the freshman 15, I recommend the salad bar. The Rec. Center has become one of my best friends. There are so many different machines to choose from, its impossible to get a bad work-out. I think thats all for now!
