Final EntryHello ALL! Hope everyone is doing well and they are getting their arrangements settled for the upcoming fall as freshmen!!! I truly can’t believe how fast this year has gone by! It really feels like yesterday I was walking down the field at my high school getting my diploma. This year’s freshman experience at Valdosta State University has been completely amazing. The first couple of weeks I didn’t think I was going to adjust to Valdosta as well as I did. I have met so many great people throughout the campus and the community. Prospective students- I know everyone is very excited about his or her upcoming graduation! I was in the same boat that you were in a year before now. I also remember being very scared and worried about how the next couple of months were going to go. One tip of advice- don’t worry! Everything is going to be okay. Actually, better than okay! There are so many organizations on and off campus that you can get involved with at VSU! You can go Greek, help with SGA, or join some of the church ministries around campus. Everyone is going to be so helpful and so nice when you move on campus-- so don’t sweat the small stuff! : ) Also- Take the chance to find out what there is to do on the weekends in Valdosta than assuming you should go home every weekend. You might be a little home sick but I think you will love it. I know I did! Before classes started I thought I wasn’t going to be able to talk to my teachers openly. That was not the case at all! All of my teachers were more than happy to talk to me before or after class during their office hours. If you put forth the effort your teachers will recognize that! Here are some pointers for class. Use them and you will so do so great in your classes! 1. GO TO CLASS!! : ) 2. Read your textbook even if you don’t want to & 3. STUDY! Don’t only study the night right before the test but look over your notes every time after you get them! You might not want to do those things but trust me and take my advice! Anywho… Altogether I had a wonderful freshman year. I’m hoping the next couple of years aren’t going to go by as fast as this one did- but I’ve heard they do! Oh yeah! By the way- I’m still holding a strong GPA and I still have HOPE Scholarship! Just have to work real hard next year to keep it! I hope every one has an awesome summer! Enjoy the days in the sun while you can. You will have to get to work in no time! Can’t wait to see new faces on campus come August! I will miss writing to yall!
