i'm Accepted!!
Now What????
Congratulations on your acceptance to Valdosta State University! Often, it seems as the admissions process might be the most difficult step. However, there are a few other things you need to do on your path to becoming a Blazer. We have outlined a few simple steps to help you along.
Please contact our office should you have any questions about the next step.
-
Visit Campus: You've applied....you've been accepted......still not sure if Valdosta State is the best fit for you? Come visit! We are sure you will agree with our current students that VSU has the right academic & social atmosphere to help you succeed.
-
V-State Connection: Find out who else will be joining you in the fall! The site is setup similar to other social networking sites, except it is just for accepted first year students to Valdosta State. Create your own profile, chat with other students, and stay current on Blazer news!
-
Housing Application: Housing in 2009 will be far different than any other year. Not only are our traditional style residence halls renovated but we also have the new suite style! Our housing is first come, first serve; do not wait until the last minute to save your spot.
-
Financial Aid: Even with VSU's affordability some students need help in financing their college career. Our financial aid office will assist you in applying for the many scholarships, grants, federal aid, and loans that we offer.
V-State Email: As an accepted student you have been assigned a VSU email address. This is the official way that students, faculty, and staff communicate on campus. Why not go ahead and set yours up and be one step ahead for the fall? Follow the link above for directions to accessing your VSU email.
-
Tryouts, Auditions, and Recruitment: If you are looking for specific scholarships that require auditions you may want to contact the department to see how the process is setup. Also Greek (fraternity and sorority) recruitment usually happens at the beginning of the classes in August. Visit their web site for the latest information on recruitment.
-
Orientation: This is one of the most important days on your journey to becoming a Blazer! On Orientation day you will have the chance to meet different departments and student organizations on campus. If you have not already, this will also be the day that you will get the chance to introduce our campus to your family. Most importantly, this is the day you will meet your advisor and register for classes for the fall semester. Registration for Orientation will begin in May; a brochure will be mailed out but you may also register from the web site.
-
Complete your admissions file: You have been accepted and finished everything else but you need to make sure that the Admissions Office has everything we need to complete your file. Make sure your immunization form is mailed (or faxed) to our office. Also request a copy of your final high school transcripts showing graduation date to be mailed to the Admissions Office.
The Admissions Office will be more than willing to assist you with any questions you have. Please feel free to contact us should you need any help.
