Aha! My faith in C.A.B has been restored! After weeks of canceled activities and disrupted plans, C.A.B has gotten back on track with their recent days of fun and excitement. To start off,  my friends and I took a trip over to the Bailey Science Center on the 15th to see Kevi Redding, a singer whom, at that point, I had been completely unfamiliar with. To be honest, I wasn’t too keen on going, not only because I had gone through  a pretty long day, but also because I at times, I have reservations about listening to singers live or in concert. Call it a pet peeve, a twitch, reservation or something else, but it happens from time to time regardless, depending on the singer or band. However, after arriving at the concert, which was held in the Bailey Science Center, I actually found myself having a good time. Not only was Ms. Redding a great singer, she was quite beautiful as well, which, I don’t mind saying, was a double incentive for me to pay complete attention while watching the show. Afterwards, she autographed her newest CD and took pictures. I couldn’t help but offer five dollars for the CD after the concert, mostly because I enjoyed her performance so much, and also because once again, she was a very lovely woman. What can I say? I’m a sucker for the ladies, you know?

Then of course, that following Wednesday was the long awaited foam party, which, up until then, had been repeatedly postponed. I had never been to a foam party, and was anxious to go, so you can imagine my irritation at it being put off so frequently. However, my annoyance quickly disappeared after I realized the foam party was actually going to take place. Of course, the gang had to convince me to walk over to the front lawn in order for me to realize this, but I digress. It actually ended up being more fun than I ever expected!  If you’re never actually had the experience of dancing with friends while massive soap suds are pretty much swallowing all of you whole the entire time…..well, let’s just say there’s always time for new experiences, right? I have to say the highlight of the night was when everyone ran wild and started picking up their friends and hurling them into the “foam pit.” I have to say, I’ve never seen so many people scream at the sight of foam. It was pretty hilarious to watch, but I really felt for all the girls having foam rubbed into their scalps! Overall, the foam party ended up being one of CAB’s best events thus far! Now, that’s excluding the time I spent trying to find my shoes in all that foam, though, but let’s stay on the positive side, shall we? Imagine my surprise when several students later posted on Facebook about their mysterious “rashes.” Yikes! Thankfully, I managed not catch anything. Hmm, it makes me wonder about that “foam” though.

Lastly, there was the “Wings & Things” Pop Culture Trivia over at the UC! Minus the fact that the “wings” ended up being just pizza, it made for a pretty fun night! There were all sorts of question, from vintage music to recent movies, celebrities, and popular TV shows, too. My friends David, Davionne, and I formed the “Retro 90’s” team. Most of the questions were somewhat simple, while others were pretty hard to figure out. My crowning moment was when I answered “What was the Best Picture winner of 1939?” question for my team. Hey, I guess it helped that “Gone with the Wind” is one of my favorite movies. Not surprisingly, we didn’t win, but we came pretty close! Besides, everyone seemed to have their suspicions about one team’s “win.” Turned out that some students referred to their phones for a few answers. It really didn’t matter, because we were just there to have some fun and some free food, of course.

In other news, school is going very well! I’ve gotten two B’s on my last two English papers! Yes, I’m used to the A’s, but this is college, so I’m trying to be patient and keep working towards my goal. All my other classes are progressing smoothly as well, and I’m glad everything is moving at a pretty good pace. Can’t wait for Fall break though!  Only a few days away!
