So this will be my final blog of the semester. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I know I sure did, except for the fact that I’ve been sick for the past two weeks. I think it may be some kind of freshman year experience thing. Haha.

So in mid November, I was invited to be one of the Kappa Alpha brother’s dates to their huge social “Old South.” It’s held on Jekyll Island over a whole weekend. The beginning of the whole thing has all the girls in big southern belle dresses and the boys in confederate uniforms. When in Jekyll, there are bands, banquets, and plenty of socializing.

On a more scholastic note, I am no longer a political science major, as listed on my profile. I discovered my huge interest in geology this semester, and have decided to be an environmental geosciences major! For the geology class I’m currently enrolled in, my professor holds two field trips that students may go on for extra credit. Even though I didn’t need the extra credit, I wanted to go simply for the camping experience and the hands on learning. We stayed at a camping site in Acworth, GA, and visited many surrounding outcrops (like Stone Mountain). I had a ton of fun!!

I’m now preparing for finals and crossing my fingers that I can survive these last two weeks. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I’ll let you know how my semester turns out in January!
