March 6, 2009Hey everyone! So it’s just after midterms at VSU and so far my spring semester classes are going great! (Even though I’ve been studying my butt off practically 24/7). I’ve been invited into two honor societies this semester: Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honor Society and Sigma Alpha Chi Honor Society. I can’t wait to be inducted into these two new activities! I’m also really excited about getting to know and becoming friends with the other students who will be joining along with me. My historical geology class was able to take a field trip to Jekyll Island this past Saturday and it was so much fun! (Although most of the other students would probably argue with me on that one…) But since it’s one of the beginning classes for my major I’m just having an absolute ball learning all of these important concepts that I’ll need for the rest of my college career and probably life! I’m beyond stoked for the class I’m taking for Maymester in which we’ll get to travel from here all the way to Nevada visiting State Parks and many different geologic sites (like the Grand Canyon). So I’m becoming more avidly involved in Student Government (I’m on 4 committees!) and am trying my best to shape the campus for the whole student body (and upcoming!). We have so many ideas and are working our hardest to see them through! SGA has a hand in just about every decision that’s made on campus, so if you’re looking for an extremely involved organization to join this fall seek us out! I don’t have any plans for Spring Break, but I’m probably going to Savannah for St. Patrick’s Day and maybe a few other spontaneous trips. Post after that!
