March 4 , 2008Hi! Things have been great, but really busy lately. Spring break starts on Monday and I’m headed to the beach after I get off work on Friday! Classes have been going well lately. We had midterms last week and the chance to drop classes if we wanted too. I was really pleased with my midterm grades which are posted on Banner. Yesterday, we signed up for housing for next year! I AM LIVING IN HOPPER! J I’m so excited. I got a new roommate because my current roommate wants to live off-campus, but I really like my new roommate, Kelli. She lives down the hall from me in Brown hall. So how housing works…which is a lot different from signing up for freshman housing, but they decide who gets to sign up by your GPA, so GPA definitely does matter for your first semester. So, my roommate and I went to the sign up by GPA and there were fairly long lines of people really anxious to pick their rooms. Once they check you in and verify your GPA, you go into a room and pick your exact room in your new hall. It was really cool because you got to see the actual layout of the hall and everything. My roommate and I picked a room facing the courtyard, near the laundry room with our own bedrooms, but sharing a bathroom. It will be great, but a big change. I really am sad when I think about moving out of Brown Hall because we all know each other really well and hang out a lot. So trust me, if you don’t get Hopper and you live in a traditional hall, its NOT the end of the world. It’s really a lot of fun because you meet so many new people and experience community living. (Also, if I haven’t said it before, everyone should apply for the Emerging Leaders Program. It’s a blast—and we all live in the same hall together). Have a good week. I will write after spring break.
