FINAL BLOG

We are going to have a meeting sometime this week with our RA about the check out process and any charges for damages to the rooms and bathrooms.  This year has been really great.  I love living in Brown Hall so much and I had the world’s best roommate, Lisa.  Brown Hall is such a great community atmosphere with people always there for you to be with just right down the hall!

This summer I really don’t plan on doing much other than relaxing by the pool.  I might go to Cancun for a week with my family, but no other trips that I know of.  I’m really excited though to be out of school and of course, wake up late again.  J

I have been thinking about lately that I wish I would have known before going to college that I feel I should tell you about:

  • Everyone is in the same situation as you are; they don’t know what they are doing or where they are going either!

  • Don’t wait for people to come to you to be friends, go to them.  You are going to meet so many people in college so start right away!

  • Don’t be afraid to get on the VSU bus system.  The bus drivers are really nice.

  • Go to the football games and any other activities.  They are all really fun and a great way to meet people; if not just see our Blazers make it all the way to number one!

  • The dining hall food is not awful by any means.  They have cereal, burgers, and sandwiches; anything you could ever want.  And of course there are other places to eat on campus, like Quiznos, Salsa Rico, the Loop (one of my favorites), Chick Fil-A, Einstein’s bagel, and a couple other places. You use your flex card for all of them, so it’s not directly out of your pocket every time.

  • The bathrooms…well, I was terrified about coming to college because I thought it was    just one big room with lots of shower heads. It’s NOT like that at all.  It’s just like a normal shower; curtain, stall, changing room and all. But of course, don’t forget your shower shoes.

  • College is so much fun! Just relax and have fun.  You only have 4 years here and trust me, they fly by!

If I had one piece of advice to give to all the Fall of 2008 students I would say: stay on top of your studies so that when something fun comes up at the last minute, you can go and not have to stay in your room alone studying!

Trust me, it never fails to happen!

Good luck guys!  It’s going to be great! GO Blazers!
