Hello future Blazers, I am Joey and I am a freshman at VSU this year. I am from Marietta, Georgia and have lived there for the past eight years. Before that, I lived in Virginia for four years and prior to that, Michigan for five years. The reason I chose Valdosta State was because the people I have met while visiting have been so helpful and they made me feel comfortable. Also, my sister, Katie (that you might know) is a senior at VSU this year.
I am an undecided major because I am interested in several possible careers. My friends describe me as someone who likes to laugh and have fun. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and also playing and watching sports.
I plan on getting involved in volunteer activities and intramural sports. Also, I will be in the Freshman Year Experience program and hope to get an on campus job.
I am really excited about being a Blazer because of the football games, activities on campus and all of the chances to get involved and meet new people. I am very nervous about my classes and getting good grades, but I know college will be the most memorable four years of my life.
