Happy New Year Dear Readers!

I know I know, you all are pretty disappointed in the delay of my blog for this month, yes I’m disappointed too, so I just want to apologize for those of you who were probably ANXIOUS to read what I have to blog about this semester. This semester is better simply because I was more prepared and knowledgeable about what it is I’m expected to do. I still enjoy my roommate, and participate in the numerous activities we have on campus. One I particularly enjoyed was a Opera that I attended, Hansel and Gretel. Wonderful piece and indeed pleasant, I didn’t know how excelling our Fine Arts Department was! Besides that, I have been hiding behind paper work: Scholarship applications, school work, exploring my career a little further and filing my FAFSA (http://www.finaid.org/fafsa/fafsa.phtml) form. These are things I hope you are currently or either beginning to do as of now…make sure you go to

While you’re deciding on which schools may fit you, go on and take a closer examination of our school’s website. I was simply amazed at how clear and up to date the information was. I could see based, on the website, that Valdosta State not only does its job as a school to provide learning and information, but it enjoys doing its job as well. Personally I like organization and planned things. There is never a moment where you will miss an event or get confused about a certain situation when you attend VSU. Although CollegeBoard.com and other websites give you amounts and information based on previous years, it’s always better to go the source itself. Make phone calls, send emails, write letters, however you may choose to communicate, just do so! I promise you will have a better understanding of what that school has to offer you and what you can offer them. Remember it never hurts to submit an application…(to VSU or anywhere else!)

What’s more is the renovation I have been doing based on the results of last semester…unfortunately I’m not going to discuss my grades (they where good though!), but I am going to show to you how I have a better chance this semester of getting even better grades! For one, since I now understand my learning style, and attend the student success center a lot more, I have discovered other ways to better my understanding of all these things I learn in class. I constantly read and realized that I must break the material down and understand it, not take it in as a whole and memorize it. I also do more physical and brain exercises to help my memory and prevent tiredness…

Something you would like to know is I blog a whole lot more! It’s required for a class but I just took it to another level and said if I blog multiple times in a week for this class, why can’t I blog multiple times in a month for my audience? To add to that little change, there will be pictures!! I know some of you are getting excited now…so not only can you read what’s going on you can also see what’s going on!! One more bonus, for those of you who missed this the first time I just want to announce that on Saturday February 2nd , 2008, A group of VSU Students, Faculty and myself will meet at the PE Complex center at 10:00 am just for you guys…yes it is here again: VISITATION DAY!!! If you didn’t come to the first one you missed out on an opportunity to get a glimpse of our lovely campus and our lovely campus to be! Of course I will be a tour guide again, and you’re more than welcomed to let me and my fellow blazers guide you around the place we love to call home.  Our last tour turned out great and hopefully this one will be just a great…Don’t miss it!!! In the mean time, take the time out to see how VSU will change your life….it surely has changed mine!

Until next time take care, and take consideration in considering yourself a Blazer!
