August 20, 2008Hey guys, it is me again Ashlie, I have to share with you what it is like to be a Cheerleader at Valdosta State University. First we moved into our dorms on August 9th, almost a week before everyone else moved in. Practice started right away, we have what is called "hell week"; we practiced twice a day with a two hour break for lunch. It was very hard work, but I made it. After hell week, we then went to Myrtle Beach, SC (August 15-17), where were attended the NCA camp, that was hard work too, but boy did it pay off. Our coed team got a fully paid bid to nationals in Daytona Florida. The all girls team got a partially paid bid to nationals in Daytona, Flordia. We were so excited, this was quite an honor to be a part of all of this and all our hard work paid off. Now I have survived the almost over first week of school. I have to admit, this is so different than high school; but my professors are great. I have to say my Valdosta experience has been a great one so far--busy, non stop, but I am having a great time and am adjusting to not being home. Now we are getting ready for the first football game. We are so excited for another great season. Watch me Saturday night (August 21)at 8:00! B L A Z E R S....Go Blazers Go!!!!
