Keri

August 18, 2008

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know what’s been happening with me at VSU! I moved in August 12 with the other girls who were going through recruitment (the rest of the freshmen class moved in August 13). Moving in was a little hectic, mostly because of construction and the fact that it was raining all day. My best friend Patty and my mom helped me move all of my stuff into my new room in Hopper Hall (yes, I know I’m extremely lucky! Haha). We had my room and bathroom set up in only a matter of hours (which is, by the way, all decorated in V-State colors!). Shortly after my room was set up, my roommate and her family started bringing in her stuff. I participated in a pot-luck selection of my roommate Lacey but I think we’re a perfect fit! So far everything is awesome in my room, except that the cable still isn’t working yet!

CPH Recruitment, for those of you who might not know, is what girls go through to join a sorority. I spent 4 days of my week, starting on move-in day, meeting with the sororities we have at Valdosta State. I met tons of awesome existing and new students throughout the events. After going through recruitment and spending time with all of the sororities, I’ve made the conclusion that they all have something unique that is a vital part of campus life at VSU. My decision was extremely tough, but in the end I decided to pledge Chi Omega and I’m certain it’s exactly where I belong! My best friend Patty also chose Chi Omega. After our first meeting outside of rush, where everyone could just be themselves, I’ve never been so confident in my decision. I can’t wait to get to know these amazing girls and keep you posted along the way!
