So the bulletin board in Hopper Hall says that there’s only 20 days left of classes this semester! And truly, I couldn’t be more relieved. Haha. The last month of the semester always seems to be “crunch time” and a bit overwhelming. It’s all worth it in the end I suppose.

There’s been quite a lot of stuff going on since last time I blogged! I was initiated into the Alpha Lambda Delta freshman honor society last week along with at least 100 fellow freshmen! It was a cool ceremony and something neat to be involved with; I encourage all new freshmen to strive for academic excellence in their first semester and also gain membership!

Also, my Student Government Association (SGA) Outreach Committee held a free barbeque for all students on the quad! This committee is all about finding new and inventive ways of getting the opinions and suggestions of the student body! We had each student fill out a very quick survey to receive a plate of food and I can’t wait to review the 100’s of surveys that were turned in!

Today I made a trip to Tallahassee, as many of my other classmates will be doing over the next month, to complete a VERY generous extra credit assignment for my Chemistry 1211 class. I visited the Our Body: The Universe Within exhibit at the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science. It showed real human specimens of muscles, bones, and nerves! It was kind of creepy in places, but all around a really interesting exhibit! Plus, one should NEVER turn down extra credit! So many things at Valdosta State open up new horizons all the time.

In my final blog I’ll let everyone know how the semester ends!
