Home at last!

Finals week was crazy! I survived, though…and am now a sophomore!  This year I have grown so much.  It’s kind of scary to think that college will be over before I know it.  Valdosta is a great school and I have enjoyed my first year away from home.  It was a home a away from home.  I plan to come back next year, too.  It will be totally different because I will be living in an apartment.  I am so glad that they built a parking garage that should be done by the time fall rolls around.  This means no worries about being late to class.

I can’t wait to get more into my major, mass media.  I have really enjoyed my classes in media this year and know I will love each one from now on.  The teacher’s are really nice and they make learning fun.  I hope if you have chosen to come to Valdosta you will come with a positive mind.

College should not be scary!  It is really exciting, especially the first few weeks.  Move in day is overwhelming!  Saying goodbye to the parents (doesn’t have to be a bad thing)! Just remember to have an open mind and things will go your way.  Be yourself and have fun. This is the start of your college career.  I can’t wait to see all of you next year. It was a pleasure being able to write and share my freshman experience with you.

Oh, and don’t worry, being a freshman is not like high school.  No getting made fun of…well maybe just a little haha see you this fall!!
