It’s a great day to be a Blazer! I love that phrase! You’ll hear it all over campus!

Hello all, I’m Alex, I'm from Tallahassee, FL.   You’re probably wondering why I’ve come to a different state to go to school… well, honestly I came because the love of my life would be here…nope not a boyfriend…volleyball!! I love volleyball.  Yep, pretty sure I started playing right out of the womb.  Well, I won’t take it that far but let’s just say I’ve been in spandex the majority of my life.  But I wouldn’t want it any other way.

It’s been such an interesting last few months.  All the choices I’ve had to make about my future were just so stressful.  I knew in my mind that nobody could decide what I should do except for myself.  I was getting so tired of sleepless nights of worrying where I should go so I had decided to just stay in my hometown and go to a community college.  I was devastated because there was no volleyball at this school…But, finally! A miracle appeared and it’s name was Valdosta.  When I came to see a summer play here on campus I just absolutely fell in love with the friendly faces, beautiful scenery, and the chance to play for the Lady Blazer volleyball team!

I plan to major in mass media because I would absolutely love to be some kind of news anchor like my idol, Katie Couric.  I adore her.  I’ve also loved acting ever since I was little so maybe even something will happen with that…So, now, I begin my adventure into this new world called college…and I’ve never been this excited! Here I go…
