Meet the Staff
Graduate Hall Director
Angel D. Maxwell was born and raised in Southern California where he graduated from California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) with his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis on Entrepreneurial Management and a Minor in Psychology.
While pursuing his degree at CSUSB, he worked for the Office of Housing & Residential Life where he spent two years as a Residential Assistant only to later be promoted to the position of Hall Coordinator for the next two years. In addition to him serving in these two positions, Angel also held a membership service staff position at the Student Recreation & Fitness Center.
Angel’s involvement was not limited to the job positions he held on campus, but he was also actively involved in many campus organizations such as: Black Student Union (B.S.U.), Enrichment Through Action (E.T.A.), Alpha All-Star Step Team, Toast Masters Int’l, Housing & Residential Life Village Council, President of the Students of African American Brotherhood (S.A.A.B.), and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Pi Epsilon Chapter.
During his downtime, he likes to meet new people, read new books (that aren’t school related), explore new music, work out at the gym, and gain new experiences. Angel believes that “obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal”, and he hopes, in his role as an RHD, to help others in pursuit of higher education share these views. Although he considers himself an introvert, Angel intends to bring that eccentric, warm-hearted, chill-vibes type of personality that only the best of California has to offer. So don’t hesitate to say hello to this guy if you see him around. We’re told that he is “as cool as the other side of the pillow”.

Brandi hopes to one day use her social work license and other experience to become a director of a youth center that serves at-risk populations. A life motto of hers comes from her favorite blog, Today Was Meaningful and states "what I know is that I hope to use my life to open doors; for other people, for opportunities, and for greater understanding of the diversity and richness that exists among each human being." Brandi has an illuminating, warm, and fun personality that will make you feel welcomed and excited to call VSU your home!
