The Valdosta State University Information Technology Helpdesk, a sub-branch of IT Infrastructure Support Services, is located on the second floor of Odum Library and is the front line for technical support and client service for faculty, staff, and students of the university. Dedicated to understanding and resolving technical issues in a timely and effective manner, the Helpdesk understands that every individual who uses technology has questions from time to time. These questions can be frustrating to resolve without knowing who can assist. Thus, the goal of our desk is to act as a single focal point for problem resolution.

Services offered by the Helpdesk include:

  • Campus technology status and alerts

  • Password recovery for Valdosta State University electronic accounts such as the registration system (Banner) and online learning management system (BlazeVIEW)

  • Clarification of campus technology use policies

  • Configuring personal computers and devices to connect to various Valdosta State University electronic services, such as the campus residential and wireless network and VSU email account (Office 365)

  • Data recovery for CDs, DVDs and jump drives

  • Requests for on-site office, lab and classroom computer repairs

  • Assistance with ordering work at home software (faculty and staff only)

  • A wealth of online and printed support resources and guides
