10-Month Staff Employees

Pay Groups:

51X (Monthly pay group) – 10 month non-faculty exempt

51J (Hourly pay group) – 10 month non-faculty non-exempt

Accrual Profiles:

188 – Off June and July (receives both sick and vacation August-May (10 working months)

189 – Off May and June (receives both sick and vacation July-April (10 working months)

Salary:

10-month employee’s salaries are calculated off the starting salary of the position divided by 12 months.  Take this amount and multiply by 10 (months they work) to find the total annual salary.

Ex.) Starting salary = $36,000 (if position was a 12-month position)

                =$36,000/12 = $3,000

10 month salary = $3,000*10 = $30,000

So for a 10-month position the salary would be $30,000.

0.75-1.00 FTE – Full benefits eligible (Sick and Vacation)

Benefit Premium Deductions:

Accrual Profile 188 – This position is a 10-month staff position that runs from August 1st through May 31st in line with the Universities traditional student population. The months of June and July are taken off unpaid. Benefits for this position are year round. Normal premiums are taken out August through December. Since no pay is dispersed for June and July, a higher monthly premium is taken out January through May of each year to make up for the two months that are not worked.

Accrual Profile 189 – This position is a 10-month staff position that runs from July 1st through April 30th. The months of May and June are taken off unpaid. Benefits for this position are year round. Normal premiums are taken out through December. Since no pay is dispersed for May and June, a higher monthly premium is taken out January through April of each year to make up for the two months that are not worked.

Retirement

Per TRS policy, nine or more months of service within a fiscal year will equal a full year of service credit.
