Patty White-Cosey, M.S., L.P.C. moved to Valdosta from Charleston, West Virginia to attend graduate school at Valdosta State University. She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from West Virginia University and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Valdosta State University. She has been licensed as a Professional Counselor since 1999. She began her career as a Counselor at Behavioral Health Services working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness. She worked there for six years, and in 2002 left Behavioral Health Services to be the Director of Greenleaf Center's Outpatient Services until 2008.  She is presently the co-owner of Therapy Center Valdosta and has been in private practice for the last 8 years.  She specializes in the treatment of children, child custody evaluations, marriage and family issues, mood disorders, and borderline personality disorder. 

Topics Discussed: 
Even if you aren't caring for an elder loved one today, it pays to be prepared. Presentation includes: types of services/resources available to assist older adults in living as independently as possible, techniques/strategies to prepare for the role of caregiver, and useful tips/resources addressing caregiver stress and burnout.
