Responsibilities include: ensure effective and efficient operation of the Communications Unit; organize and implement the university’s communications and public relations activities; direct the activities of two communications specialists and president’s office staff; serve as official campus spokesperson; maintain contact close relationship with members of the media to help elevate VSU’s profile; provide editorial development and production for President’s Annual Report and Scholarship Magazine; produce “More from Valdosta State University” weekly television and radio shows; write press releases and articles for the university’s Web page and other publications; and serve as the liaison between VSU and University System of Georgia’s office of Media and Publications.

Responsibilities include: work with departments/divisions to develop story ideas for publicity; maintain contact with local, regional and state media to promote the university; and provide writing and editing support for university publications. She is also responsible for maintaining the university’s communications web sites.
