A survey of the major political, economic, social, and cultural developments in the United States and Georgia since 1865. The course is divided into four units, each unit covering a specific time period in American History after 1865. *Either HIST 2111 or HIST 2112 satisfies legislative requirements for U.S./Georgia History.

Course textbook: "The Unfinished Nation: A Concise History of the American People,” Volume II, 10th Edition by Alan Brinkley. The digital version of this text is included in the cost of tuition as part of VSU’s Day 1 program.

Course also includes embedded historical journal articles and primary documents at no cost to the student.
